Continually Improving

C-TEC’s Quality Assistant, Amy Linton, assists our Quality Manager, Paul Stuart, in monitoring of all aspects of quality control, process development and continuous improvement in our state-of- the-art manufacturing facility.

When did you start working at C-TEC?

I joined last year as a Production Operative. However, as I’d previously worked in quality control at various optical, perfume and logistics companies, I applied for the new role of Quality Assistant when it came up just 4 months later and was thrilled to get the job.

What does your job involve?

I collate all internal non-conformances, allocate them to the correct person for action and analyse the outcome. I’m passionate about continuous improvement and it’s very satisfying to let the person who raised the issue know that it’s now resolved. Last month, I was asked to prepare a presentation for the Management Team to explain why we are focussing on certain areas of the business which was a great experience and one which I really enjoyed.

What do you like most about your work?

By creating new processes and continuously improving existing ones, I feel I’m making a real difference. I like to channel my creativity into coming up with innovative new solutions. I’m always trying to make the world a better place so I’m proud to be a part of making products that protect and improve people’s lives. Paul’s a great mentor, he’s been with the company for 32 years so really knows his stuff. I’ve learned so much from him and he’s fun to work with.

What do you do in your spare time?

I take my daughter to photoshoots as she loves modelling, experiment in the kitchen with different recipes, upcycle furniture and renovate property with my partner. I have a degree in Music and it’s always been an important part of my life. My partner and I perform in our own synth pop band so we spend a lot of time creating and recording songs.
