C-TEC’s cost-effective and versatile addressable call system, Quantec, has been installed at a new state-of-the-art £7.5 millionhealth facility in Great Malvern, Worcestershire.

With 24 consulting rooms, Prospect View Medical Centre provides GP services for 19,000 patients and community health services for the whole of Malvern, which has a population of around 36,000. The building houses a range of community staff including district nurses, health visitors for children and the elderly, school nurses and occupational therapists.

Designed to make premises safe and secure, Quantec is a vital piece of life safety equipment which ensures essential communication for patients and staff at the centre in emergency situations. Says Brian Kirkland of Contract Distributors, the company which specified the system: “Quantec is ideal for medical facilities as it is very easy-to-use, reliable and helps to save staff time, minimise disturbance and improve the quality of patient care.”

Each consultation room is equipped with a call point, special call lead and overdoor light, enabling the occupant to raise an alarm should an emergency situation arise.

Says David Jago, the Centre’s Manager: ”As a medical facility providing primary healthcare, GP and dentistry services, Quantec is an essential part of our infrastructure. The system is invaluable as it provides staff and patients with the reassurance that, if there is an emergency, it will be responded to quickly. Quantec enables us to fully discharge our duty of care to the people accessing our facilities”.

New innovations recently added to the Quantec range include a large and easy to read LED corridor display and a revolutionary data management software package designed to evaluate staff performance, review patient demands and determine optimum labour levels/shift patterns.
