An extensive range of C-TEC’s life-safety systems including its award-winning new CAST-PRO devices are protecting a specialist children’s care home in Derbyshire.
In a project completed by A P Mitchell, one of the North West’s leading suppliers of professional building services, a CAST ZFP touchscreen-controlled fire system featuring CAST-PRO combined fire detection and alarm devices was installed to provide the 12-bedroomed building in Darley Dale with first-class fire protection.
Ian Randles, Director of Surety Care Ltd, the company that owns the facility said: “I’ve worked in the care sector for many years and always specify C-TEC. I’ve always been impressed by the fact that the products are innovative, high-quality and, most importantly, manufactured in the UK by a local company. CAST-PRO is smoke, heat, CO fire, tone or voice sounder and visual alarm in just one device which made installation fast and easy for A P Mitchell’s engineers. The panel’s touchscreen is also very intuitive and user-friendly.”
One of C-TEC’s Quantec addressable call systems is also in operation at the home which caters for children with autism and other complex mental health needs. With its capacity to increase efficiency, save staff time and ensure vital communication between residents and staff, Quantec is proving invaluable in the smooth running of the facility.
Ian said: “I have found the Quantec team very positive to work with and even when we have had minor issues in the system they have been rectified in a very constructive professional and speedy time frame.”
A SigTEL disabled refuge system has also been installed. In an emergency, the system will enable clear two-way communication between building management and people located in the refuge areas to, firstly, assist rescue teams in finding people and, secondly, to let them know that help is on the way.
