The Person and the Role

The primary objective of this role is to provide technical support to our production team, by maintaining a safe working environment and by communicating to all other departments regarding problem-solving and improvement processes. Some of the key tasks for this role are:

• To provide support on all manufacturing equipment and processes (including SMT, Wave Solder, Dispensing Equipment and final assembly).
• Fault find, repair and maintain all manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Analyse, Initiate and implement process control measures throughout production.
• Monitor and improve maintenance programs within production.

To be successful in this role the candidate will be competent in the use of manufacturing equipment in an electronics environment, have a good understanding of analogue digital and power electronics, have the ability to fault find down to component level, have the ability to read technical drawings and have experience and knowledge of a workshop environment. You will also have great communication skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and have the skill and knowledge needed to analyse a problem and develop solutions.

The Team

Our Engineering and Technical department is headed up by the Engineering and Technical Manager. The department is split up into a number of areas; Technical, Returns, Test Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering. The team consists of a number of time served engineers, technical experts and a group of apprentices at the start of their careers.

Located in the heart of the North-West, our state-of-the-art Challenge Way manufacturing facility in Wigan is a truly spectacular building with spacious office space, high-tech production areas and extensive free parking.
